This issue of Foam Magazine deals with the relationship between 'art' and the 'artist'. It presents work by artists who explicitly delve into the inner self. Ultimately one might say that our 'self' not only exists through the other, but finally even in the other. Photography's interdependence on a shared world and its capacity to interpret and translate the world makes it the perfect medium to illuminate the very essence of us all. By constantly adding a new image to the representation of 'the other', photography enlarges and vitalises the world in which we can declare ourselves.
