Emilie Hudig - Shadow Man, 2012

Inkjet print
Signed, dated, numbered and titled on a label
30 x 30 cm
Edition of 10 + 2 AP

ABOUT THE WORK
Unlike her earlier work, like the project Control, this work of Emilie Hudig is not documentary. Instead it is poetic and intuitive. For these images she used films of which one cannot know what the result will be before it is printed. ‘Control is an important theme in my work. Or specifically the lack of control. For me the small mistakes in an image make a photo perfect. The perfection of imperfection. Always a surprise and ultimately without any control. Just as in life.’ - Emilie Hudig

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Untitled is the second large personal project of Hudig. It was exhibited at Museum van Loon in September 2012.
In 2019 she showed the series Verborgen groen, de Hortus Conclusus, about the secret gardens of the canal houses in Amsterdam, in the Stadsarchief in Amsterdam.
