Lust; the intense longing to have specific desires fulfilled. This issue features eight portfolios chosen without restraint or obligation, setting out to create a kind of tension, all the photographers showcased reflect the theme of Lust is some form.
From a master of the taboo, Larry Clark and his collage of images of the young Jonathan Velasquez, a series from the youthful Rico & Michael that plays on good taste and visual clichés to the semantics of contemporary pornography by Martin Stöbich that melds word and image to create work that conceals as much as it reveals. Lust is explored extensively in this issue.
Also included, an interview with the ever fascinating Viviane Sassen, talking about both her fashion photography and her autonomous work. An ‘On My Mind’ feature from 6 cultural figures talking about images on their minds plus copious book reviews – there should be more than enough content in this Lust issue to sate your appetite.
