This booklet has been published to mark the first exhibitions to take place as part of the recommended fellowship. Every two years, recommended, which includes a grant and advisory support for up-and-coming photographers in the artistic field, selects three fellows to undertake a dedicated photo project. Each fellow is personally coached by a curator at one of the distinguished photography institutions in conceiving and realising the project. The curators then exhibit the project results in order to draw the attention of the wider audience and the art world to the fellows’ work.
The three fellows each receive a grant of €10.000 and camera equipment from Olympus to use primarily in implementing their project within the designated time frame. The results are exhibited by the Haus der Photographie / Deichtorhallen Hamburg, Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam and Fotografie Forum Frankfurt.
The fellows for 2017-2018 are Lilly Lulay, Thomas Albdorf and Nadja Bournonville. The publication includes critical texts by Celina Lunsford (Fotografie Forum Frankfurt) on Lilly Lulay's work, Hinde Haest (Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam) on Thomas Albdorf's work and Ingo Taubhorn (Haus der Photographie / Deichtorhallen Hamburg) on Nadja Bournonville's work. The publication also includes images from each artist's latest project and interviews with each of the fellows.
