ABOUT THIS WORK
This photo is published in the newest photobook of photographer Thomas Manneke. The book Zillion features 54 black and white photos made over the last three years, most of them shot with 8/10 inch camera. Photos in the book depict daily observations, stills of found items, and objects made by Thomas Manneke or his daughter Laurie.
Some objects were inspired by artworks from the past, as with Josef Albers’ drawings which gave rise to the drawings on glass, and Francis Bruguiere’s photographs which inspired Manneke and his daughter to make the folded sculptures of thick paper and dynamic cut-outs.
