ABOUT THE WORK
In this work (no.1 of the series Tautology) there is a complex relation between the form of an image and how an image arises.

In the Production Stills from Gábor Ösz film work, Tautology, the artist uses analogue and digital film loops. He filmed empty film projections in a space, looped the shots and filmed them again. In this way he creates a kind of Droste effect, an image-within-an-image-repeat.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Gábor Ösz (b. 1962) is born in Dunaujvaros, Hungary. He studied in Budapest, New York and at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. His work has been exhibited in the Ludwig Museum, Budapest (2005), the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (2002), The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (2002), Galerie Willem van Zoetendaal (2005) and Galerie Loevenbruck, Parijs (2009). In 2010 he won the BMW Paris Photo Prize.
