About the work and the photographer
Self-taught Dutch photographer Casper Kofi (1990, NL) is well known for his portraits of mainly young men, but he also photographs still life. The blending in of still life images and landscapes gives a feeling of pause and lends a storytelling quality to this search for manhood. This term could be used as a way of understanding what it means to determine an identity for yourself by drawing on visual references to gather inspiration. 
This particular image of flowers was taken in 2017 in the home of Kofi. On his work desk lies a photo album that belonged to his grandfather. He never knew his grandfather and that's why it is of great value to him.

Casper Kofi's work was part of the Adorned group show in 2019 in Foam and he worked on assignment for among others Vogue NL, Calvin Klein and Paul Smith.
