About this work
This photo was published in the photobook Zillion by photographer Thomas Manneke. The sold out book featured 54 black and white photos made over the last three years, most of them shot with 8/10 inch camera. Photos in the book depict daily observations, stills of found items, and objects made by Thomas Manneke or his daughter Laurie.
Some objects were inspired by artworks from the past, as with Josef Albersā drawings which gave rise to the drawings on glass, and Francis Bruguiereās photographs which inspired Manneke and his daughter to make the folded sculptures of thick paper and dynamic cut-outs.
